IS THE VEIL 400 THERMAL MONOCULAR COVERED BY THE VIP® WARRANTY?
Yes! The Veil 400 Thermal Monocular is covered by the same unlimited, unconditional, lifetime warranty from Vortex® including electronics.
The VIP® Warranty does not cover loss, theft, deliberate damage, or cosmetic damage that does not hinder the performance of the product.
WHAT IS THE DETECTION RANGE OF THE VEIL 400 THERMAL MONOCULAR?
The Veil 400 Thermal Monocular has a detection range of 1,100 yards. This is the range where a 0.5-meter target is matched to a single pixel.
CAN I TRANSFER PHOTOS AND VIDEOS FROM MY DEVICE WIRELESSLY?
No. At this time you can only transfer photos and videos with direct connection to a PC or Android® device.
CAN I MOUNT MY VEIL THERMAL MONOCULAR TO A RIFLE?
No. The Veil 400 Thermal Monocular is not designed to be used on a rifle.
WHAT IS THE OPERATING TEMPERATURE OF THE VEIL 400 THERMAL MONOCULAR?
-4°F to 140°F. Note: In extreme temperatures, battery run time may vary.
CAN I CHARGE THE BATTERY IN MY VEIL THERMAL MONOCULAR?
Yes. The battery can be charged in the device via the USB-C port or can be charged outside of the unit using the included battery charger.
CAN I USE A POWER BANK WITH MY VEIL THERMAL MONOCULAR?
Yes. The Veil 400 Thermal Monocular can be charged with a power bank via the USB-C port.
WILL MY VEIL THERMAL MONOCULAR WORK WITH ANY 18650 BATTERY?
The Veil 400 Thermal Monocular will work with most 18650 batteries. However, it's not recommended to use 18650 batteries with integrated
charge ports as they add length to the battery and can prevent the battery cap from fully setting.
WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENT COLOR PALETTES AVAILABLE?
White Hot, Black Hot, Red Hot, and Multicolor.
WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENT VIEWING MODES BEST FOR?
You can choose between three viewing modes that let you adjust the thermal image based on terrain, background clutter, and environmental
conditions. Switching modes helps improve target separation and clarity as conditions change in the field.
Balanced Mode: Best for fair weather, balanced backgrounds, open ground.
Contrast Mode: Best for backlit conditions, targets in shadows, or behind foliage.
Brush Mode: Best for dense cover, humid nights, subtle heat signatures hidden in brush.
