Night vision is the most misunderstood technology in optics. When we display our products around Australia and New Zealand at many Trade Shows we are absolutely amazed at what most people think night vision is, how it works and what to expect. Simply put, there are three technologies in night vision, 1) the original GA type which use a gas filled tube and gives you the green image, 2) the Digital type which use a very low light level CCD chip and give a black and white image and 3) Thermal systems which are heat based.
Unfortunately everyone has been confused by what they see in movies and on TV news programmes. The bottom line is that pretty well everything you see in the movies is a movie prop and what you see being used in TV news and by the military is very expensive. Also the export of all night vison products manufactured in the U.S. is illegal and is controlled by the U.S. State Department so in short it can only be purchased by Government Departments and Police.
Our Yukon and Pulsar products are low end from China starting at around $350 and high end from Europe starting at around $1000. Before you do any purchasing, please contact us for expert advice.
