Vortex breaks new ground with our Razor HD tactical riflescopes. Built literally from the ground up to meet the demanding needs of precision shooters. The Razor HD 5-20x50 is a state-of-the-art long-range performer built on a solid 35mm one-piece tube and packed with more than a dozen unique performance and optical features—including a precision-etched first focal plane reticle.
First Focal Plane
Subtensions remain consistent throughout magnification range.
APO Objective Lens System
Corrects color across the entire visual color spectrum—virtually eliminating chromatic aberration across the entire field of view.
Optically Indexed Lenses
Deliver optimum image sharpness and brightness with true reticle use for full ranging and holdover from edge to edge because of computer-controlled alignment during construction.
HD Lens Elements
Premium (High Density) extra-low dispersion glass delivers the ultimate in resolution and color fidelity, resulting in High Definition images.
XR Lens Coatings
Vortex proprietary XR fully multi-coated lens coatings increase light transmission for maximum brightness.
35 mm Tube
Provides more internal room to accommodate a greater range of windage and elevation adjustment to accurately dial longer-range shots.
Maximizes alignment for improved accuracy and optimum visual performance as well as strength and waterproofness.
Construction from a solid block of 6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum delivers increased strength and rigidity.
O-ring seals prevent moisture, dust, and debris from getting inside the tube for reliable performance in all environments.
Filled with argon gas to inhibit internal fogging over a wide range of temperatures.
Lenses are locked in place, fore and aft, with machined locking rings to remain in perfect alignment and withstand recoil and impact.
Hard Anodized Finish
Hard-coat anodization is durable; the low-glare matte helps camouflage the shooter’s position.
Ultra-hard, scratch-resistant coating protects exterior lenses from scratches, oil and dirt.
Internal Mechanism Design Features
RZR Zero Stop
Rapid Zero Return (RZR) feature stops the turret from dialing below sight in range using rugged steel components. Internal mechanisms stay free of sand, dirt, dust, moisture and other foreign materials—even when setting the zero-stop position. US Patent 8,166,696 B2
RZR Tall Uncapped Turrets
Spin quickly and stop at the zero setting without counting clicks. Subtension marks match the reticle making range calculation and shooting adjustments fast and accurate.
First Focal Plane Reticle
Scale of reticle remains in proportion to the zoomed image. Constant subtensions allow accurate holdover and ranging at all magnifications—no shift in point of impact during zoom.
Friction Reduction System
Provides superior durability, repeatability and accuracy for the life of the product. Prevents galling or deformation of the erector screw contact point because the heat-treated, hardened-steel pad floats on the end of the turret screw and interfaces with a hardened steel ring on the erector tube for steel-on-steel contact. US Patent 7,958,665
Provides low-friction, wear-resistant performance: precision-machined from a silicon-brass alloy and treated with an advanced dry-film lubricant. Turret screw threads are ultra-precision machined to sub-2 micron tolerances (less than 78-millionths of an inch). Ultra-smooth operation and adjustments.
Erector Tube System
Precision-machined from premium brass alloy with anti-galling properties for great strength and durability. The erector spring of chromium vanadium withstands compression, has high fatigue resistance, and is tumble-polished to a mirror finish for micro-precise elevation and windage adjustments.
Single Spring Construction
Fully (without over-constraining) constrains the optical system for predictable, improved accuracy throughout the range of elevation adjustment.
Protected between two layers of glass (not made from wire) for optimum durability and reliability.
Professional-grade illumination: designed for daytime, low light and night vision devices. The top setting (11) is visible in the daytime, depending on the background color. Settings below 11 are for low light use when the user's eyes have become adapted to lower light levels. Lowest settings are intended for use with night vision devices.
Can be turned on or off with a single click between each intensity level—allowing access to a preferred illumination setting without having to progress through each intensity level. Positioned at 45 degrees off the left side of the eyepiece for easy adjustment without blocking view of the turret setting or magnification.
Combines a fiber optics magnification indicator with raised rear-facing magnification references for clear viewing in low light conditions.
Fiber optic turret rotation indicator provides illuminated and tactile point of reference for turret rotations. US Patent 7,937,879
Fast Focus Eyepiece
Allows quick and easy reticle focusing.
Uses an adjustment mechanism on the left side of the riflescope to fine-tune focus to eliminate parallax shooting error.
Reduces glare and sun reflection off the objective lens.
Promotes consistent shooting form for optimal accuracy.
ARD Flip Cap Cover
Reduces glare and sun reflection off the objective lens.

EBR-2B MRAD Reticle
The EBR-2B (Enhanced Battle Reticle) is a ranging reticle using mrad-based subtension lines for ranging, holdover, and windage corrections. Heavier windage dot references on the drop lines increase visibility at all magnifications as well as during low light conditions. Numbered subtensions on the crosshairs ensure quick and easy referencing.
